About Me

I graduated from The School of Visual Arts in NYC.

During my last year at school, I began working for Neil Tardio Productions as his Studio Manager. It was there that I began to edit director’s reels and soon after began cutting Music Video director’s reels for GPA Films. Shortly after, director Derrick W. Boatner hired me to edit his “Dog without a Leash” music video, which led to Boatner asking me to edit his next project, “The Points” from the soundtrack of Mario Van Peebles’, “Panther”, featuring various recording artists such as Biggie Smalls, Busta Rhymes, Coolio, Bones Thugs N Harmony, Redman and many more.

I relocated to Miami where I was hired as a Tape Editor for, Barry Diller’s flagship USA Broadcasting station, WAMI-TV’s live news magazine show, “The Times”.

I relocated again, this time, to Los Angeles where I became the resident editor of the Horror/Comedy web series, Hell’s Kitty, which went on to become a feature-length film.

Soon after, I edited an independent feature film entitled “Fragile World” followed by a feature-length documentary entitled “Sticky: A (Self) Love Story”. Sticky is the world’s first documentary on masturbation and can currently be seen on Amazon Prime!

Next I was hired by Warner Bros to create, produce and edit a total of twenty-one VR experience segments for every episode of TNT’s, top-rated detective drama, “Major Crimes”.

I just completed, actor, Graham Patrick Martin’s directorial debut short film “Recondition”.

I am currently working on several, simultaneous film projects.

Johann M. Canon resides in Los Angeles, California.
